On December 8, 2003, Brett Blomberg, the Mayor of Lincolnshire, IL, read the following proclamation:

WHEREAS, the Chicago Storm Women's Baseball Team plays its home games at North Park in the Village of Lincolnshire; and

WHEREAS, this team is the Great Lakes League Regular Season Champion with a record of 12-0; and

WHEREAS, this Chicago Storm competed in the Amateur Athletic Union's 2003 Women's Baseball National Championship Tournament hosted by Roy Hobbs Baseball in Fort Myers, Florida from November 5-9, 2003; and

WHEREAS, Katie Bason, Laura Brenneman, Jill Engholm, Rachell Gary, Jennifer Hughes, Allyson Keener, Tricia Lander, Theresa MacGregor, Kellie Manzie, Carrie Prebble, Peggy Sue Precup, Tess Ryan, Charlene Wright, and team Manager Jason Marlin represented the Chicago Storm in the tournament; and

WHEREAS, these players represent the type of athlete of whom the Village of Lincolnshire is justifiably proud; and

WHEREAS, this Chicago Storm outscored their opponents 66-14 while compiling a record of seven wins and zero losses in the tournament; and

WHEREAS, this Chicago Storm defeated the New England Lady Spirit by a score of 1-0 in extra innings in the Championship Game; and

WHEREAS, this Chicago Storm Women's Baseball Team, by virtue of its first place finish at the 2003 AAU Women's Baseball National Championship Tournament, is crowned the 2003 Women's Baseball National Champions;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Brett Blomberg, Mayor of the Village of Lincolnshire, on the 8th day of December, 2003, do hereby congratulate the Chicago Storm Women's Baseball Team for this outstanding achievement, and the Board of Trustees, the residents of the Village, and I, commend all those responsible for their part in the success of the Chicago Storm Women's Baseball Team.
